Welcome to Shark Tutor premier coaching services!

Mission:  Shark Tutor LLC provides Fairfield County and Westchester County high school students with premier SAT tutoring, ACT tutoring, SAT subject test tutoring, and academic tutoring that is individualized for proven, results-oriented performance.  I have a breadth of experience with top-scoring students, those with ADD and other learning disabilities, and every type of student in between.  I also provide tutoring for SSAT, ISEE, GMAT, and GRE exams as well as college application essay creation and editing.

Ivy League grad (Princeton BSE '81) and founder Sharon Kistler (formerly Sharon DeNunzio) has over thirteen years of experience successfully coaching and tutoring a diverse group of over 800 students.

I aim to provide each student with the skills, strategies and pacing designed to maximize test scores and confidence.  Tutoring sessions take place at my home, at the student's home, or at a local library.  Boarding school students frequently meet in-person over breaks and summer and via Skype during the school year.  Parent communication is encouraged to help select the best test(s), target optimal test dates, design the ideal tutoring program, and track progress.  Mock testing and analysis is also a key component of my tutoring program.

Fairfield County and Westchester County schools served:  Brunswick and Greenwich Academy, Convent of the Sacred Heart, Rye Country Day, King, St Luke's, School of the Holy Child, Fordham Prep, Fairfield Prep, Greenwich High, New Canaan High, Darien High, West Hill High, Byram Hills, Fox Lane High, Harrison High, Mamaroneck High, Larchmont, Scarsdale High, and White Plains High.

This is one of my favorite book recommendations for high school teens.  As they ponder their future college majors and potential career paths, they will have the perspective of history to understand why some majors -- film and psychology, for example -- are increasingly popular today.  Even those students who choose a more traditional left-brain path will most certainly benefit from learning about the right brain, exercises to improve this side of the brain, and why it is so important for "symphony".

This is one of my favorite book recommendations for parents of teens to better understand the entire testing process.  I applaud the level of detail that Debbie shares with her readers.  As a parent of a sophomore or junior, you will find that this book provides amazing insights into how to select the best coach/tutor/class program for your child and what additional top resources-websites-books are available for extra help ranging from vocabulary to math content to grammar rules.  As a top SAT/ACT tutor with over a decade of experience, I truly believe that this author "gets it"!  It is a fun, poignant and funny book.  Just read it!
