At Shark Tutor, our primary tutor took one ACT and one SAT every year for 9 years with the juniors and seniors in high school. Most tutors do not have this experience and the insights gained by putting herself into the shoes of her students.

We offer both in-person and online tutoring sessions. In-person sessions are held at Shark Tutor in Riverside, CT, in a local library, or at the client's home, while online sessions are conducted via video conferencing platforms for your convenience.

The duration of our GRE tutoring program depends on the individual needs and starting point of each student. Typically, students benefit from up to 3 months of preparation. Most students need to focus primarily on math skills, and we can customize the timeline to fit your schedule and goals.

Most students take a baseline ACT and SAT test and, with the help of Shark Tutor, determine which test to pursue based on the highest score opportunities. Once the test has been chosen, the ACT or SAT tutoring is similar and specifically geared toward that test.

Our experienced tutors provide personalized tutoring that focuses on the specific content areas of the ISEE or SSAT exams. We offer practice tests, review sessions, and strategies to help your child feel confident and prepared on test day.

Our GRE tutoring program includes comprehensive preparation for all sections of the GRE exam: Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning. We recommend using the Power Prep online platform for practice tests provided by the GRE test maker.

In addition, we supplement with review packets on specific skills after reviewing test prep performance.

We offer tutoring in a wide range of high school subjects including Math (Algebra, Geometry, Pre Calculus, and Calculus.), Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), English, History, and more. Our goal is to help students excel in their coursework and build a strong academic foundation.

Our SAT and ACT tutoring programs are tailored to meet the individual needs of each student. We begin with an assessment to identify strengths and weaknesses, followed by a customized study plan. Sessions focus on test-taking strategies, practice tests, and review of content areas.

We have a flexible cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid any cancellation fees.
